Visible blindness in the urban world society's relation to light now and then

The diploma thesis is focused on city in time and age of artificial lighting. It takes the issue of light pollution as its starting point. Elementary sources and consequences of over- lighting are used as a base for the Forgotten Dark worksheets. The sheets were created in collaboration with Veřejný sál Hraničár (Public Hall Hraničář) as an educational material for the gallery cycle Light. Together with the sheets, a need to widen my knowledge and apply it to a specific situation arose. I picked Obchodní dům Prior and Kulturní středisko Corso (Shopping Mall Prior and Culture Center Corso) in the neighborhood of Krásné Březno for that purpose. The pick of the place directed the development of the themes of the theoretical part of the thesis. The middle part of the thesis is trying to show contemporary city from two essential angles. Firstly, I tried to answer the question about sources of the shape contemporary city has taken upon itself. The rest is focused on building public spaces in regard to their nighttime flow. The final chapter is exploring the object of Corso. At first It is trying to take a look at the context of the city part of Krásné Březno, then it is taking a look at the city part in context of Ústí nad Labem. Gallery of Architecture is located on a plot between Milady Horakove street and Koliště. It is a strategic location for linking urban park Balloon in the city center. The parcels are located near major cultural objects. Gallery exhibit allows different objects in different scales and different styles exposure. It uses two types of lighting. Automated verification of aircraft satellite antenna's targeting function

This diploma thesis provides an overview and basic principles of satellite communication systems. Further is description of specific aerial satellite communication system ARINC 791. The practical part includes proposals of the system for automated verification targeting functionality of an air satellite antenna, which has been carried out in Honeywell laboratory conditions. The selected implementation is realized and used for automated verification targeting functionality of an air satellite antenna. The results are graphically evaluated.

The main content of this master’s thesis is design of RNAV SID and STAR routes for Brno Tuřany Airport. The study analyses usage of current conventional instrument arrivals and departures published for the aerodrome and describes its TMA. The new precision RNAV routes and the terminal area are designed based on the indentified information. A detailed construction of the chosen departure procedure is enclosed.

Nothing Around Us

The work Nothing around us is based on reflection of the present. From the beginning it was clear that it will deal with the space. The space around us, the environment in which we live, our perception of the surrounding and our feelings from it. The surrounding world is one, but everyone perceive it in their own way because our ideas about the world are different. The Nothing that I wanted to show was always only apparent. Over time, I moved from general considerations of the functioning of the world to explore my own place in it. I focused on myself, on my own feelings and needs, perhaps for the first time in my work. Desire for solitude, peace, freedom from all around was the strongest one. To be somewhere, where I do not perceive anything around me, opens my inner space and allows me to explore happening in it Staying in absolute darkness reminds of already forgotten memories. Mind is able to create the illusion of nonexiatent light. I tried to transfer This state to the light installation in the former factory Mosilana in Brno.

Metal-organic interface for effective charge transfer

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (TMA) molecules on a silver crystal with (111) surface termination. After the deposition of the molecules on the substrate, a fully protonated layer ( phase) is formed. Further substrate annealing induces a deprotonation process, which leads to the formation of another and phases. The different arrangements of the molecules were studied in ultra-high vacuum conditions by low-energy electron microscope (LEEM), scanning tunneling microscope (STM), and by low-energy electron diffraction (LEED). The application potential of these layers is discussed.

In the eyes of a traveller, Iceland seems to be a paradise on earth, but in the eyes of an inhabitant, it doesn't seem so clear. A number of factors come into play, such as the difficult availability of building materials, low population density or the unbalanced length of day and night during the months, which also has considerable consequences for the mental state of the population. The project takes into account the last mentioned problem. In the design of a simple family farm, the project tries to discover the basic principles of how to fight the lack or excess of daylight and at the same time solve questions of contemporary theory of architecture and materialize the problem of part and whole relationships.
